Scouting the RAGBRAI overnight towns... Day 5 in Cresco

Day 5 on July 27th will end in the town of Cresco...
It boasts a Czech meat and cheese shop on the way into town, a friendly coffee and donut shop, note worthy pizza and Chinese restaurants, a WWI water mine (?), a lovely green park for camping, a pet friendly B&B, and the Iowa wrestling Hall of Fame. This small Iowa town is home to 5 US Navy Admirals, Norman Borlaug who came up with “Miracle Wheat” that saved millions from starvation, the world’s first stewardess, 3 Olympic wrestlers, and the man who came up with name for Cheerios! They also have a spooky welcome planned for us as we arrive in town... Cresco is known for some paranormal activity! ;0 I'm amazed how much time, effort and participation these small towns put forth to make RAGBRAI great for the riders and residents. Cresco put together a little dance in the official t-shirts. You've got to love it:
